Abortion themed ice cream?

Yes, you read that right.

What’s the Scoop, a Portland based ice cream shop is teaming up with NARAL to bring you “Rocky Roe v. Wade” – an ice cream flavor designed to resist the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Don’t live in Oregon? You can order online and have it shipped directly to you. There’s also a box on the order form to make an optional contribution to NARAL. Local residents get a real treat, though. NARAL volunteers will be at the ice cream shop on Sept. 30 to hand scoop your pro-abortion cone.

Because nothing says reproductive rights and murdering innocent babies than fresh scooped ice cream, right?

Nabisco animal crackers freed after PETA protests packaging

PETA is setting its sights on food packaging now.

After 116 years of the same packaging, Nabisco has redesigned the classic animal crackers container to appease the animal rights group. Back in 2016, PETA pointed out to Nabisco that “circuses often beat, shock, chain and whip  animals to intimidate them into performing tricks. Other cruel practices include tearing baby animals away from their mothers and keeping animals in cages and chains.” (USA TODAY)

PETA is happy the edible animals have been freed from their cages, stating “The new box for Barnum’s Animal Crackers perfectly reflects that our society no longer tolerates the caging and chaining of wild animals for circus shows,” PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman said. “PETA is celebrating this redesign, just as we’ve celebrated the end of Ringling Bros. circus and the introduction of animal-circus bans across the U.S.”

Not sure about you, but I’ve never paid any attention to the fact that the animals were depicted as being caged on the original packaging. In fact, I find animal crackers to be pretty gross tasting.

This is such a waste of time and shows how we as Americans focus on some pretty ridiculous things we call problems.

Here are a few of the best Twitter reactions to the news that Nabisco has freed its animal crackers.

Gretchen Carlson Accused of Bullying Miss America Cara Mund

Former Fox News host and the 1989 Miss America Gretchen Carlson is accused of bullying, among other things, the current Miss America Cara Mund. Carlson currently serves as the pageant chairwoman for the board of directors, but many say she’s not interested in the pageant and only out to capitalize on her status as a leader of the #MeToo movement.

In a six page letter to other Miss Americas, Mund states that that Carlson is marginalizing, bullying and trying to silence her for speaking out against the current Miss America leadership.

Mund wrote in her letter that she was given three talking points to be made in every appearance: “Miss America is relevant. The #MeToo movement started with a Miss America, Gretchen Carlson. Gretchen Carlson went to Stanford. Right away, the new leadership delivered an important message: There will be only one Miss America at a time, and she isn’t me.”

From the Hollywood Reporter:

“Let me be blunt: I strongly believe that my voice is not heard nor wanted by our current leadership; nor do they have any interest in knowing who I am and how my experiences relate to positioning the organization for the future,” Mund wrote. “Our chair and CEO have systematically silenced me, reduced me, marginalized me, and essentially erased me in my role as Miss America in subtle and not-so-subtle ways on a daily basis. After a while, the patterns have clearly emerged, and the sheer accumulation of the disrespect, passive-aggressive behavior, belittlement, and outright exclusion has taken a serious toll.”

Carlson responded in a statement that was posted on her Twitter account.

In that statement, Carlson said this:

“Actions have consequences,” Carlson wrote, addressing herself directly to Mund. “Friday, as an organization, we learned that $75,000 in scholarships which would have been the first scholarship increase in years is no longer on the table as a direct result of the explosive allegations in your letter.”

“The impact won’t stop there,” Carlson continued. “We are already seeing a negative ripple effect across the entire organization, and I am so concerned that it will dilute the experience for the next woman selected to wear the crown.”

Several other former Miss Americas went on Megyn Kelly Today and say Carlson should resign.

The irony in all this is that Gretchen Carlson views herself as a leader of the #MeToo movement after being one of the first women to accuse FOX CEO Roger Ailes of sexual harassment.

She’s also working with Lifetime Television, hosting a series called “Justice for Women” which focuses “on Carlson’s efforts to tackle workplace sexual harassment, which the network praised for serving ‘as a catalyst for so many other women to say #MeToo.'”

If Carlson is indeed bullying and silencing other women, it’s pretty hypocritical of her to continue to claim she’s a champion for victims.

Interesting how many of the women accusers in the #MeToo movement are now becoming the accused.

‘The Oath’ teaser trailer: Film about politics, family and the holidays

The holidays can be difficult enough without adding the often sensitive subject of politics. Generally, it’s advised to completely avoid such topics and continue talking in nonspecific, bland pleasantries.

It’s a win-win for everyone. Makes for a much better time, there’s no hurt feelings, rising blood pressures or elevated tempers.

However, one new upcoming film breaks this rule completely. “The Oath,” starring Ike Barinholtz and Tiffany Haddish, is about what happens when politics is interjected amongst family during Thanksgiving, and apparently, takes it to the extreme.

Given the fact that it’s a piece of work produced by Hollywood, it’s likely to take a liberal point of view, blaming conservatives alone for the toxic political climate. However, you never know. I mean crazy things have happened, right?

Anyway, check out the teaser trailer below:

Asia Argento, #MeToo activist, actress accused of paying off 17-year-old sexual assault victim

A huge bombshell dropped Monday morning. One of the women who has accused former movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment and rape, is now herself accused of being a sexual harasser. Needless to say, #MeToo activist, Actress Asia Argento finds herself on the other side of the movement.

Argento is said to have paid off a then 17-year-old actor after a sexually harassing the teen to the tune of $380,000. Despite the sad, ironic turn of events, what makes this even worse is that at the time of the alleged inappropriate sexual conduct, Argento was 38-years-old. The alleged incident happened in 2013, in a California hotel room.

According to the details of the 2013 incident, once in the California hotel room, Argento supplied the 17-year-old with alcohol, began kissing him and then performed oral sex on him and then proceeded to have sexual intercourse.

Probably the creepiest detail about the entire ordeal? Argento and the then 17-year-old met years ago on the set of “The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things” when he was just a child.

It will be interesting to watch how the media reacts to this. Will they treat Argento like a predator, which, if everything detailed is true, she most certainly is. Will she be ostracized by the entertainment industry like Weinstein and Spacey? Will she be brought up on charges like Weinstein? The simple fact is that rape is rape, sexual assault is sexual assault whether the perpetrator is a male or female. Let’s hope the #MeToo movement recognizes this as well.

If #MeToo is really worth anything at all, Argento will face the same wrath as the men who have done such things. That’s all anyone can really ask. This is a huge moment for #MeToo, will they turn against one of their own or will they sweep it under the rug and hope it just all goes away.
