Throughout the Indiana Republican race for U.S. Senate, there has been one overriding, dominant issue: Donald Trump.

All three candidates have gone out of their way saying how “pro-Trump” they are; stating it in interviews, in their lone debate up until this point, on TV and radio ads. Basically, wherever Mike Braun, Luke Messer or Todd Rokita appears, you can bet that the phrase “pro-Trump” will be coming out of their mouth early and often.

However, the one candidate who has essentially made cozying up to President Trump the focal point of his campaign has been Congressman Todd Rokita. He’s gone so far as prominently wearing a MAGA hat in two campaign ads, including his most recent one.

In the most recent ad, Rokita accuses Congressman Luke Messer of “plotting with the Never Trumpers to steal the nomination from President Trump. Wow.”

Needless to say, Rokita wants you to believe he was all Trump from the very beginning, never wavering for a second on his support for then-candidate Trump. But that’s not the case at all. In fact, Rokita referred to Trump as “vulgar, if not profane.” Instead, he was all in on Marco Rubio because, according to Rokita, “he’s the standard bearer for the mainstream Republican Party.” In an interview with Fox 59 in February 2016, Rokita is referred to as “one of the first in the Indiana delegation to back Marco Rubio.”

But…but I thought Rokita was always and forever Mr. Trump’s right hand man? Why would he change? Why would he tell us one thing and the fact be another? Political expediency, maybe? Easiest way to get elected?

Here’s why Rokita is now all about President Trump: Trump defeated Hillary Clinton by nearly 20 percent in the Hoosier state.  And in a red state like Indiana, President Trump is still extremely popular. So why not, if you have no original ideas, use President Trump’s popularity to get elected?

This display of utter hypocrisy from Rokita is exactly why people don’t like politicians. Say one thing and do another. Accuse someone of something that you yourself did.

Maybe Rokita should wear two MAGA hats in his next ad to show how “pro-Trump” he really is!  Well, at least now….you know because it could help him get elected.

Braun campaign joins Rokita, Messer and releases another TV ad

Both the Luke Messer and Todd Rokita campaigns have rolled out new television ads.

The Messer campaign went for more of personal story with the candidate telling us about his mother’s struggles as she raised two children on her own. The Rokita campaign in a totally opposite direction. Continuing with their adamantly “pro-Trump” stance, Rokita tells us how both Braun and Messer are terrible, awful, no good human beings while wearing a MAGA hat. So you know, real subtle stuff.

Anyway, the Mike Braun campaign, not wanting to be left out, joined in the fun and released a new ad as well.

In the ad, Braun’s family is prominently featured throughout – around the table in prayer, making smores around a campfire and walking hand-in-hand with his wife. The narrator goes on to tell us about Braun, his credentials as a conservative, his work ethic, his faith – all issues important to Republican voters.

While not funny like their previous ad, this one is still sure to play well with voters.

‘The Office’ reboot talks pick up steam

Sometimes you just have to take a break from politics, ignore Donald Trump’s typo-ridden tweets, shut off CNN or MSNBC (That last one is a joke, calm down) and indulge in mindless entertainment. Right? Sure, we all do.

Anyway, ‘The Office,” the U.S. version, is without any shadow of a doubt, one of the best series in television history. If you don’t believe me, if you are unsure or disagree with my previous statement in the slightest, I will fight you! (Not really, but you get the idea.)  Seriously, Steve Carell not winning an Emmy for his work as the iconic Michael Gary Scott is one of the biggest crimes of all time.

However, as much as I love watching Jim play hilarious pranks on the overly authoritative Dwight, Pam roll her eyes at the camera or Creed doing whatever it is exactly Creed does, it must stay in the past.

Recently, John Krasinksi (Jim) said he would love to come back and play the sardonic Jim again.

Krasinski’s willingness to revive his career-making character comes after Jenna Fischer (Pam) saying she was game as well. But, Pam and Jim, Dwight, Andy, Angela and Creed, you guys need to stay in the past or at least on Netflix.

The last two seasons – without Michael Scott – were not good. And it’s already been said that Carell wouldn’t be apart of any series reboot.

So knowing all of this, why would they bring it back? Yes, I understand Roseanne has been a massive hit and Will and Grace has been bringing in the ratings, but just leave The Office alone. The characters were given somewhat decent conclusions during the series finale.

The Office is a terrific, witty, hilarious show that only gets better with multiple viewings, but don’t bring it back, don’t ruin it. PLEASE!

Todd Rokita goes negative, dons odd-fitting MAGA hat in latest ad

If you didn’t already know, Congressman Todd Rokita is unabashedly “pro-Trump” and stands “firmly behind our president and Mike Pence.” And just in case you don’t believe his words, the candidate for U.S. Senate says all of this while sporting an odd-fitting Make American Great Again hate.

However, before he beats us over the head with message of being 100 percent sold out to Trump, he goes, but what else, negative.

Mike Braun is, according to Rokita a Democrat, having “voted for Obama or Hillary.” His campaign apparently isn’t sure which one he voted for, they are still working on that. Please, get back to them on it.

Then Rokita accuses Luke Messer of being a Rino. But just in case you aren’t sure what exactly what a Rino is, Rokita holds up a sign explaining it you.

The entire ad pretty much sums up the entire Rokita campaign up until this point: negative and unoriginal.

New Messer campaign ad is about ‘the forgotten men and women’

More and more political ads are starting populate the airwaves. And unfortunately, it’s only going to get worse before it gets better.

As the primary quickly approaches, the Luke Messer campaign has released yet another ad. But this one is slightly different.

While Messer still wants you to know he’s firmly “pro-Trump” and very much so, this one kind of brings his message home. He talks about his mother’s struggles as a single parent, trying to make ends meet working at factory while raising two boys.  He makes it personal and voters are likely to respond to such an ad.

In just 30 seconds, the ad helps to make Messer a much more likable and relatable figure. It’s easily the campaign’s best ad and it leaves you wondering why didn’t they lead off with this one?

Fox News releases statement on Laura Ingraham, to stand behind her

It appears David Hogg has failed…at least for the moment.

Following last week’s brouhaha where Laura Ingraham tweeted a rather dumb message about Hogg being rejected from college, advertisers began dropping like flies, at Hogg’s urging. You know, because Ingraham said something Hogg didn’t like and deserved to be silenced.

After the dustup, Ingraham tweeted a message of apology.

But receiving an apology from Ingraham was never the goal. Instead, Hogg stated he wanted an apology from the entire network.  Big surprise, I know. A leftist given an inch and trying to take a mile.

Anyway, some thought Ingraham’s show would actually be taken off the air due to the action’s of a 17-year-old and a few companies willing to happily submit to a high school student’s demands. Virtue signaling at its best…or worst, I guess.

Anyway, Fox News put out a message Monday stating that Ingraham’s show isn’t going anywhere.

While not a big fan of Ingraham, silencing her or anyone else for that matter because they refuse to going along with the in vogue opinion of the day isn’t a good precedent.

Rachel Maddow has every right to be heard. Chris Hayes has every right to be heard. Heck, even David Hogg has the right to be heard.

However, at this point it appears that Hogg’s crusade to silence those who aren’t in complete and total agreement with him has failed.

Just don’t let him or CNN know.

Paul Ryan posts Easter message, leftists lose their minds

Easter is the day to celebrate the fact that Christ is risen and that the tomb is empty. He went to the cross on Friday to pay for the sins of mankind, only to rise on Sunday and gained victory over death.

Needless to say, it’s an important time for many families. Recognizing the day is special to many, Speaker Paul Ryan posted a video to Twitter wishing families a blessed Easter.

There is absolutely nothing political in the video at all, but that didn’t stop leftists. In fact, they absolutely lost their minds. Responding with obscene messages that don’t exactly display the love and open mindedness leftists are always going on and on about.

Gotta say, I watched the video and I didn’t hear that quote. Maybe I missed it?

Then there’s this measured and well thought out response.

I know there are different kinds of Easter candy that make an appearance once a year, but I’ve never heard of this. Perhaps he buys his chocolate at a very different kind of store.

Second message from this all-star.

This individual seems to know the location of Mr. Ryan’s eternal home.

This obvious MENSA member also seems to be concerned with Ryan’s eternal resting place.

Oh, well. Keep on spreading and sharing the love leftists. Can wait to see what you have for Christmas!
