Monday is International Women’s Day. It’s a day set aside to recognize and celebrate the women in our lives.
Any and every recognizable woman will post a message on social media celebrating the accomplishments of women. Of course, the day is perfect for crazy, far left female activists to take the opportunity to say and/or do something crazy.
It’s going to happen. On the other hand, you’re going to get people who, for no other reason than they can, to say women cannot or should not do this or that.
Taking a middle-of-the-road stance or even adding a little bit of nuance to something seems to be gone.
Well, it appears Burger King has taken a, uh, rather stupid position on the women in the workplace.
It’s generally a good idea for businesses to stay out of politics and it probably would have been best for the social media manager for Burger King’s UK Twitter account to have kept this thought to themselves. Because no matter how you feel about their position, this is just an unenforced error that’s going to result in some rather bad press and headaches.
