Nikki Haley is running for president in 2024….probably. The former South Carolina governor and Trump administration official was already considered a potential presidential candidate but what Haley recently said just adds more speculation that she’s looking at a White House run.
In an interview with Politico, Haley breaks away from Trump in a big, big way. The former UN ambassador said:
“He’s not going to run for federal office again. I don’t think he’s going to be in the picture. I don’t think he can. He’s fallen so far. We need to acknowledge he let us down. He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t let that ever happen again.”
This is quick about-face for Haley. She is now against Trump after she was with Trump before she was against Trump.
Of course, Haley is saying all of this now because she sees what every other thinking person could see years ago that being associated with Trump, in anyway, is going to be toxic to their careers. Being a member of his administration is going to be a big blemish and black mark on their resume. Trump is quickly going to become a figure GOP officials will quickly look to distance themselves from, especially those members of the GOP running for president in 2024.
