LA councilman forgets words to ‘Pledge of Allegiance’

You can’t win them all, right?

Well, while that’s true an elected official should probably know the words to “Pledge of Allegiance.”

Recently, during a city council meeting in Los Angeles, a city councilman was attempting to open the meeting by saying the pledge but it took him a bit longer than normal as he forget the words.

As odd as that is, it gets even weirder. He seemed to forget what comes after “I pledge to the flag of the United States of America” and then seemingly blanks.

Knowing that you’re likely to catch grief for something like this, the councilman at least took it in stride. He responded on Twitter with self-depreciating humor.
