Over the weekend, a friend shared a post from a realtor in the tiny town of Vevay, Indiana. The post featured a photo of famed tattoo artist Kat Von D holding a sold sign with the caption, “Kat Von D & family welcome to Vevay, Indiana!”
Kat Von D, who is known for her show LA Ink and her line of make-up in Sephora stores, addressed the post on her own Facebook page, saying they’re leaving California for Indiana because of “tyrannical government overreach.”
“Definitely not ever selling our beautiful home in LA, but with all that’s been taking place in California, with terrible policies, tyrannical government overreach, ridiculous taxing, amongst so much more corruption, we just felt the need to plant roots in a small town where my son can be free to play, and where we can eventually retire one day,” she posted.
Von D has tattooed Nikki Six of Motley Crue, Miley Cyrus, and Beyonce, to name a few.
Reactions from fans were mixed after the announcement.
“Welcome to Indiana I guess lmao. Hope u like corn,” one person posted.
“Welcome to Indiana Kat. I love it here. Married a Hoosier and we moved back to his hometown 23 yrs ago when he got out of the Military,” wrote another.
