Politicians are full of crap. It doesn’t matter, Republican or Democrat, most of them will simply tell you what you want to hear, regardless of whether there is any truth to it or not.
They are essentially professional liars who are looking out for No. 1, no matter what they may say to your face or when the cameras are on. Most of them are more concerned about the next election than really getting anything done in their present term.
I know this is a truly negative and pessimistic outlook but politicians and government aren’t to be trusted. Generally, this was an idea that Republicans believed, well, until their precious: Donald Trump.
Well, now that President Trump is on his way out in just a matter of weeks, you’ll now begin seeing Republicans make a play for Trump’s base of supporters as politicians try and position themselves for a 2024 presidential run.
And it appears that maneuvering has already started, at least for Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley. Hawley, on Wednesday, went on an impassioned rant in which he continued talked about Trump voters being disenfranchised, voting irregularities and blah, blah, blah.
Hawley says all of this, and much like the Trump campaign legal team, doesn’t provide any evidence of his claim, but instead says the people he talked to believed they were disenfranchised.
Just because someone believes something doesn’t make it true. There’s people who believe all sorts of crazy, made up nonsense but that doesn’t make it true.
Hawley is doing nothing more than trying to capture that fervent Trump support as he contemplates a run for 2024.
