The coronavirus pandemic has made 2020 an interesting year, to say the least. Concerts and sporting events have been cancelled or postponed, jobs have been lost and this happens as cases continue to surge around the country with deaths related to the virus increase at a frightening pace.
Needless to say, when the pandemic is finally over, there are areas of our lives that will never been the same. One area that appears to on its way to changing dramatically is how we consume entertainment.
On Thursday, Warner Bros. announced that they’ll release all of their 2021 films in theaters and on the HBOMax, their streaming service, on the very same day.
This is a major move for movie studios but especially movie theaters. While on their last legs already, this likely signals the beginning of the end of movie theaters with other studios likely to follow Warner Bros’ lead.
