Filling the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg position on the Supreme Court is going to be a fight. Whether it comes after the election, as Sens. McConnell, Graham and Cruz said it should when Obama was president or immediately as they say since Trump is now president, it’s going to be a fight.
While the Kavanaugh hearings and vote were contentious and controversial, this next one is likely to be even more so. It’ll be flipping a decidedly liberal seat on the court to a supposedly conservative one.
And Democrats are already vowing to fight to keep the pick off the highest court in the land. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that all options are on the table, which would theoretically include impeachment.
Again, if Republicans try and put Trump’s pick on the court just weeks before the election after having never even given Obama’s pick, also made during an election year, a hearing, people are likely to get a tad bit upset.
