Bill Clinton defended by CNN panel: ‘we believe in redemption’

On night two of the Democratic National Convention, former President Bill Clinton gave a speech where he denounced President Trump’s conduct in the oval office.

Maybe not the best person to be talking about Oval Office conduct, am I right?

While some on the left have called for Democrats to own and address the problems with Clinton’s past, a CNN panel apparently disagrees with that assessment and defended Clinton on air.

Scott Jennings, a former George W. Bush White House official, asked why Clinton hasn’t been canceled.

“I am dumbfounded by this. How is it that Bill Clinton has not been canceled by the Democratic – how has he survived all of these waves of cancellations when he has been one of the biggest violators of these rules all these years?” Jennings asked.

His answer was met with contention from the panel.

“We believe in redemption, brother,” Van Jones said.

“I don’t think we have to say everything that Bill Clinton has done is great, but I do think that when he has made mistakes, he’s acknowledged them, and I admire him for that,” Jones added.
