Monday night was Day 1 of the Democratic National Convention. The first night saw several big names take the podium virtually and urge voters to cast their ballot.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, former first lady Michelle Obama and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo were just a few of those who shared their message virtually, of course. In addition to the aforementioned Democratic Party heavyweights, Republican and former Ohio Gov. John Kasich spoke Monday evening.
Kasich has been a vocal critic of President Trump so it comes as no surprise that the former Ohio governor would lend his support to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Following his speech Monday night, former New Jersey governor, Trump defender and friend of President Trump, Chris Christie, laid into Kasich. Christie essentially said the support former governor of Ohio, a state that is always important every presidential election cycle, is meaningless. He went on to call him a “backstabber” and an “untruthful guy.”
