Trump says he’s considering a pardon for Edward Snowden

The name Edward Snowden has become synonymous whistle blowing and government tracking.

Snowden is known for leaking highly classified information from the National Security Administration and Central Intelligence Agency about government tracking to the media in 2013. Following his leak, Snowden was charged with espionage, escaped the country and has been living in Russia ever since.

Since his leak, Snowden and whistle blowing has become a hot button issue where people on both sides of the aisle have argue about Snowden’s actions. Some say that Snowden is a traitor and made America less safe by giving national security secrets to its enemies. Those on the other side view Snowden as a hero as he made people aware of government tracking and surveillance.
