Biden calls for nationwide mask mandate, calls for ‘Americans to do the right thing’

Cases of coronavirus continue to surge across the country, increasing in a number of statess.

Doctors and other medical professionals have stressed the importance of social distancing, hand washing and avoiding large crowds in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Face masks have also become a big part of the fight against the virus. Dozens of states have already instituted statewide face mask mandates with even some requiring mandatory quarantines for people traveling to certain states from states with surging cases of the virus.

While speaking Thursday, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden called for national face mask mandate, claiming that every American should be wearing one at least for the next three months.

Biden called on Americans to do the right thing in order to protect their fellow citizens, saying that estimates are that mask wearing would save 40,000 lives.

Biden’s endorsement of face masks in the fight against the virus in drastic contrast to President Trump who only recently essentially wearing masks is the patriotic thing to do.
