Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar wants the United States to look dramatically different. Basically, the freshman lawmaker wants to completely dismantle the entire country and begin anew.
Oppression. Omar is terribly, terribly oppressed. Omar is a female who immigrated to the United States as a child, fleeing war-torn countries in Africa. She’s since been able to graduate from college and in 2016 she was elected to the Minnesota House of Representative and then in 2018 won election to the United States House of Representatives.
Now, Omar’s accomplishments don’t, at least on the surface, sound like that of a person who was oppressed. In fact, Omar has achieved things that a good majority of Americans will never, ever do. And she was afforded these opportunities because she lives in a country that rewards hard work, diligence and perseverance. Now, I’m not saying that she didn’t hardships growing up, she probably did. But now Omar is saying explicitly that she wants to do away with what she describes as “systems of oppressions,” including the U.S. economy and our political system.
Despite systems, according to Omar, that are terribly oppressive, she was able to rise up and achieve.
Amazingly, this is a sitting U.S. representative saying she wants to augment the very foundation of our country. This is sheer insanity and she’s not making any attempt to hide her ambitions or desire to dramatically change the United States.
I guess if nothing else, at least she’s being honest about what she aims to do with her time in office. Most politicians aren’t nearly as forthright with their objectives. And unfortunately, she’ll probably be re-elected to her seat in 2020 despite her saying that she wants to dismantle what is essentially the very foundation of the United States.
Even with her insane admission, she’ll likely be re-elected to her seat in 2020. One can only hope that’s not the case.
