STL couple clash with BLM protesters; come out with guns to defend home

Video of a couple in St. Louis, MO has gone viral after the husband and wife are shown emerging from their home with guns to reportedly defend it from Black Lives Matter protesters.

The protesters were in the neighborhood, marching to the mayor’s home and calling for police reform. Local news outlet KMOV reported around 300 people were part of the group of protestors.

According to the home owner, they smashed through gates marked “No Tresspassing” and that’s when he and his wife grabbed their guns, fearing for their lives.

“A mob of at least 100 smashed through the historic wrought iron gates of Portland Place, destroying them, rushed towards my home where my family was having dinner outside and put us in fear of our lives,” the homeowner said.

“This is all private property. There are no public sidewalks or public streets. We were told that we would be killed, our home burned and our dog killed. We were all alone facing an angry mob,” the homeowners said.

While many applauded their efforts to defend their home, others criticized the way the couple handled the situation. Dana Loesch points out the couple needed to handle their guns better and said in a tweet, “one top responsibility when you’re armed is de-escalation. You never point the gun at anything you aren’t prepared to shoot.”
