The right/Republicans have always been a group the group that likes to call themselves “pro-life.” And generally, that’s the case. Far more on the right vote in favor of life than those on the left. Pro-lifers believe that life is worth defending, no matter what the stage.
Whether the life of the person in question is an unborn child, a middle aged man or woman or an elderly person, all life has value. That’s a noble cause, defending the right for people to exist who may not have a voice.
That’s what the right believes, right?
Well, longtime Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly is under fire for some rather, what appear to be callous, remarks about those who have died during the coronavirus pandemic.
The fired Fox News host was recently on Sean Hannity’s radio show where he and Hannity were discussing Bernie Sanders dropping out of the race.
O’Reilly then makes the comment that those who were dying from the virus “were on their last legs anyway.”
Now, O’Reilly is getting hammered by the left for his callous comments about the lives of those who died. But let’s be honest with ourselves, the Left is only hitting the man for his statement simply for political reasons. Most are still perfectly OK with taking the life of an unborn child if the mother is inconvenienced by the existence of the potential newborn.
Likewise, I’ve not seen much from the right, who should be outraged about his statement about his comments. Hannity just warned Bill that he’d “get hammered.”
If what O’Reilly said had come out of the mouth of a prominent liberal figure, the right would be raising hell.
