Candace Owens mulls over run for office

Conservative commentator, author and host of “The Candace Owens Show” is thinking about running for office, but won’t say just yet what office she plans to seek. Owens tweeted yesterday that she’s never considered a run before, but something changed in her overnight.

I’m now honestly considering running for office. Never had any desire to previously, but something changed in me last night. Had a conversation with my husband and I think it’s a plan,” she wrote.

She told Fox News she’s been approached many times in the past to run for office, but only just now decided it’s the right time.

“We’ve come to a junction where it’s not enough just to comment on politics but to get involved in it,” Owens told the outlet. “They’re all vulnerable,” she said, referring to the Democrats. “And right now is a perfect storm to see how people are leading.”

Owens also said she’s considering a seat in the Senate or as a governor, but didn’t say where she might run.

Last year, Owens resigned from her position as Communications Director for Turning Point USA and launched her own show with PragerU. She is also the founder of the Blexit movement. Her new book, “Blackout: How Black America Can Make Its Second Escape from the Democrat Plantation” comes out in August.
