Kenny Rogers dead at the age of 81

Country music legend Kenny Rogers has passed away at the age of 81.

According to Fox News, the singer died at his home in Sandy Springs, Georgia with his family nearby. Cause of death, according to the family, was of natural causes. The family released a statement on Twitter, saying:

“The Rogers family is sad to announce that Kenny Rogers passed away last night at 10:25PM at the age of 81. Rogers passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family.”

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, a public funeral will not be held but the family hopes to have a public memorial service at a later date.

Rogers career spanned several decades with 24 number one hits, a string of popular duets with Dolly Parton and he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
