Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar has ended her campaign for the presidency, dropping out just a day before her home state votes on Super Tuesday. Klobuchar, who is in Texas, will address supporters later today and plans to endorse former Vice President Joe Biden.
Klobuchar had some momentum after New Hampshire, but that quickly fizzled in the Nevada caucus and South Carolina primary. She had painted herself as a moderate Democrat and repeatedly said she was the only person on the debate stage who wasn’t a socialist.
That leaves five remaining Democrats running: Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, former Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Vice President Joe Biden.
Warren thanked Klobuchar for being a “champion for working families and women in politics” on Twitter.
Thank you to my friend, @AmyKlobuchar. You've been a champion for working families and women in politics, and I look forward to keeping up that fight by your side.
