Trump scene in ‘Home Alone 2’ edited out for Canada

Viewers in Canada got a different version of the movie when watching Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. It seems that the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the national public television network for Canada, edited out the scene where Donald Trump gives directions to Kevin McCallister to the lobby of the hotel.

The omission was pointed out by several viewers and Ryan Fournier tweeted about the omission, saying they were “so triggered by him that they had to edit him out of the film.”

According to The Independent, the CBC says the edit was to allow for commercials.

“As is often the case with features adapted for television, Home Alone 2 was edited to allow for commercial time within the format,” a representative said.

Trump said it was an “honor to do the movie” when talking to troops on Christmas Eve of this year.

“A lot of people mention it every year, especially around Christmas. They say – especially young kids – they say, ‘I just saw you on the movie.’ They don’t see me on television as they do in the movie. But it’s been a good movie and I was a little bit younger, to put it mildly. And it was an honor to do it. ”
