Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is typically someone the left loves – she often tweets against President Trump and Brexit and usually supports left wing ideology. But cancel culture has come for Ms. Rowling after a tweet she wrote supporting Maya Forstater, who was fired for saying that people cannot change their biological sex they were born with.
“Dress however you please. Call yourself whatever you like. Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you. Live your best life in peace and security. But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real? #IStandWithMaya #ThisIsNotADrill,” Rowling wrote.

Slate published a piece saying the author can “no longer be considered a LGBTQ ally” and that “Thursday’s tweet was her most overt example of transphobia to date.”
The Human Rights Campaign tweeted at her that, “Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Non-binary people are non-binary. CC: JK Rowling.”
Trans women are women.
Trans men are men.
Non-binary people are non-binary.CC: JK Rowling.

Others said they were extremely disappointed with her stand, calling for her to apologize.
Please follow more trans people, please read about their experiences in this world and know you are contributing to their erasure, abuse and suffering by supporting those who deny their identity/existence. Please wield your immense power to protect those most at risk. @jk_rowling https://t.co/xXM0hNYvcO

You are a disgrace. Disturbing how can someone with such a beautiful imagination can be so distorted by the thoughtlessness of bigotry they are unable to imagine that they're wrong. https://t.co/xCBXGWItFe

as Dumbledore said “It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.”
today, we're being brave and standing up against you + your transphobia @jk_rowling

Others accused her of coming out as a TERF, which stands for transgender exclusionary radical feminist.
In fact, the World Health Organization–among countless other medical authorities–validate trans people in their authentic gender identity.
It is quite clear you don't understand the first thing about the trans community or the science at play.
This is heartbreaking.
