On Wednesday, the House Judiciary committee reconvened and listened to a number of witnesses as they try to figure out if President Trump committed an impeachable offense.
One of the three witnesses who testified before the committee was Stanford law professor and attorney Pamela Karlan.
At one point during her impassioned testimony Karlan used the name of President Trump’s youngest son, Barron.
Now, many people are incredibly upset that she would even dare to utter the 13-year-old’s name, seemingly bringing a teenager into the world of politics. People are outraged, calling it an absolute travesty and how should even think of doing something so absolutely awful! For shame! For shame!
Seriously? People need to calm down.
Will the media do anything or call her out for invoking the teen’s name in a political and partisan manner? No, absolutely not. It will just be more evidence of their bias. But let’s take a step back and take a deep breath.
It was a poor and cringey attempt at a joke by an obviously angry woman and likely lonely woman. Was it in poor taste and should she have used the kid’s name? No, but it’s not the end of the world.
