Johnny Depp has had a rough go of it lately, in both his personal and professional life. He’s had string of films that have consistently underperformed at the box office.
Seriously, what was he thinking when he signed up for “Mortdecai,” “Transcendence” and “The Lone Ranger?”
In addition to his failure in selecting profitable or even decent projects, he was accused of being an abuser by his now ex-wife actress Amber Heard. Of course, that has since turned out not to be the case but Jack Sparrow has still had a rough few years.
Now, it appears that even his commercials aren’t going to be seen by very many. This comes after Depp’s Dior commercial was deemed to be “culturally appropriating” Native American culture.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, people look for reasons to be outraged or at least feign outrage.
While the ad was pulled, Depp is defending the ad, saying that it was created with great care to the Native American people.
