I looooveeee “The X-Files” – the original series, not the newer reboot that happened a few years ago. Gillian Anderson is a great actress and Dana Scully was an iconic role. She was also fabulous in “The Fall.”
Her next role is playing Margaret Thatcher on the Netflix show “The Crown”, but liberals are not happy with her for being excited to portray Britain’s former Prime Minister.
“I am so excited to be joining the cast and crew of ‘The Crown’ and to have the opportunity to portray such a complicated and controversial woman,” Anderson said via the show’s Twitter account. “Thatcher was undoubtedly formidable, but I am relishing exploring beneath the surface and, dare I say, falling in love with the icon who, whether loved or despised, defined an era.”

Cue the outrage.
"Falling in love" with the person responsible for Section 28, dead miners, and the utter obliteration of working class communities. Cool Gillian, very cool

If I were @GillianA, I would be very careful with my words about Margaret Thatcher. That woman established an era whose horrors we are still facing nowadays, and publicly supported the coup d'etat in Chile and a murderer and dictator like Pinochet. She was pure evil.

good to know that the woman whose legacy includes deliberately crippling countless working class communities in the north of england and issuing death squads in NI to murder civilians is someone to "fall in love with" https://t.co/oicYKoFc0K
