Sen. Hirono on MSNBC: Trump admin thinks up ways to be cruel to immigrants every day

Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono, to say the least, isn’t a fan of President Donald Trump, his administration or anything they say, do or think.

She appeared on Chris Hayes’ program on MSNBC where they discussed the Trump administration’s treatment of migrant families being detained on our southern border.

During the segment, Hirono and Hayes continually refer to those crossing the border as migrants, never mentioning their status, legal or not.

Why? That would completely undercut their argument. Instead, Hirono focuses on how poorly the children are treated. How could our nation treat children so badly, the senator from Hawaii asks.

Hirono then goes on to make the statement that the Trump administration “sits around and tries to come up with ways to be cruel to these immigrants every day.” She also calls Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell “most ruthless person she knows.”

Probably the most interesting moment of the entire segment is that Hayes points out that the Obama administration was doing the exact same thing at the same exact facility in Texas. Hirono doesn’t react to it and instead continues to hammer the Trump administration for the cruelty.
