It would seem things have come full circle for comedian/actress Sarah Silverman, who is notorious for her liberal rants on Twitter. After some old photos from her 2007 Comedy Central show resurfaced that show her wearing blackface, the comedian revealed she was recently fired from a movie over them.
“I recently was going to do two days on a movie, a sweet part in a cool little movie, then at 11 p.m. the night before they fired me because they saw a picture of me in blackface from that episode,” she said on the “The Bill Simmons Podcast.”
“I’m not that person anymore” she added, “I understand that it’s never OK.”
She then criticized people who don’t allow apologizes, saying people can change and they shouldn’t be judged on previous mistakes.
“It was so disheartening,” she said. “It just made me real, real sad because I’ve really kind of devoted my life to making it right.”
“I don’t stand by the blackface sketch. I’m horrified by it, and I can’t erase it,” she said. “I can only be changed by it and move on.”
