People say the Democratic Party tries to buy votes, promising constituents free things if they get elected.
And if you’ve watched this crop of candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for president at all, you’re likely to agree that that is exactly the case. However, as much as they have promised to give us if they would ever occupy the Oval Office, Democratic-socialist Bernie Sanders has been the most generous with his promises, by far.
Now, Sanders is making up things, saying people have an absolute right to something simply because they exist.
Every American, regardless of income, is entitled to:
The right to a decent job that pays a living wage.
The right to quality health care.
The right to a complete education.
The right to affordable housing.
The right to a clean environment.
The right to a secure retirement.

It’s unclear where Sanders believes these rights come from but he’s wrong. Nowhere in our nation’s founding documents are these “rights” explicitly spelled out. But when you’re level of support is starting to fall and Elizabeth Warren is cutting into your support, you’ll get pretty desperate.
