Kirsten Gillibrand is an absolutely terrible candidate. She continually says and does some of the most cringeworthy things imaginable, she support is in the low single-digits but yet she still refuses to leave the race.
However, we may now know why the New York senator just despite a laundry list of reasons to drop out won’t: white privilege.
At Wednesday night’s debate, Gillibrand actually said it’s her responsibility to explain white privilege to others and help dismantle the institutional racism that exists in our country.
As a white woman and a U.S. Senator running for president of the United States, it is my responsibility to understand white privilege and to work to dismantle institutional racism in this country. This burden cannot be left to people of color alone. #DemDebate pic.twitter.com/0DJsK1yb4u

Or, you know, she could just drop out and let a woman of color such as Harris carry on and help her consolidate the female Democratic voting bloc. But I’m guessing she won’t anytime soon , you know, because of her white privilege.
