There are more than 20 people hoping to become the next Democratic nominee for president but only a handful actually have a shot.
But for some reason, the entire lot of them continue to campaign as if they nomination is just within their grasp. Perhaps they have nothing else to do? Maybe people funding their campaigns like throwing away money?
Whatever the motivation for people like Kirsten Gillibrand, Tim Ryan, Michael Bennet and Bill de Blasio, it’s baffling and lost on a majority of the population, to say the least.
Former governor of Colorado, John Hickenlooper, is one of those individuals who has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning enough support to become the Democrats’ candidate of choice. He may be a nice guy, might even have few good ideas but he’s never going to be the donkeys’ nominee. It’s just not going to happen.
However, that reality doesn’t seem to have dampened the enthusiasm of Mr. Hickenlooper.
On Thursday evening, he retweeted a link from Fox News with a message in which he seemed to be over the moon about getting 2% in a poll. He also seemed to think this was a sign of good things to come.
"BREAKING: Hickenlooper polling at 2%"

You hate to kick a man when he’s down but this is just embarrassing. You even feel slightly bad for him that his campaign seems to have gone so poorly up until this point that he’s actually thrilled with that little support – which is normally more than the margin of error for most polls.
