On Wednesday night, President Donald Trump held a rally in North Carolina. During his remarks to the crowd, Trump was talking about the “progressive Democrat congresswomen,” specifically Rep. Ilhan Omar. It was during this time that his supporters began chanting “send her back.”

Well, Omar, who was born in Somali, is an American citizen.
Disagree with the woman on policy? Fine, that’s great. There’s plenty to disagree with her on, but chanting “send her back” about an American citizen is dumb, stupid and just plain ignorant.
On Thursday, when asked about the moment at his North Carolina rally, Trump said he didn’t like it, wasn’t happy about it and he even claimed that he tried to stop it.
JUST IN: “I was not happy with it. I disagree with it,” Pres. Trump says of “send her back” chant from crowd at his campaign rally last night.
He asserts he tried to stop the chant by “very quickly” speaking again as the chant broke out, despite a long pause during the chant. pic.twitter.com/NpN5QlB6Nn
