Beto O’Rourke is still, for some reason, running for President of United States of America.
After an initial hot start, where the media was fawning over every move from the failed senate candidate, he’s fallen dramatically in the polls. His poor showing in the first presidential isn’t likely to help his position in the polls either.
So, when a Democrat is struggling, hoping to gain any kind of traction in the polls, what do you do? Well, you appeal to the far left voting bloc of the Democratic Party and accuse the founder of the United States of racism. Not only that but you say that every single institution and structure in the country still reeks of inherent and systemic racism.
Will calling the country you are hoping to lead a racist nation help pull enough of Bernie and Warren’s supporters away to help him rise in the polls? Probably not, when you’re desperate, this is what Democrats do.
