Democrats are coming for Maine Republican Susan Collins.
Collins, who was essentially the deciding vote on the Kavanaugh confirmation, angered her liberal allies with the vote. They haven’t forgotten and they are looking to her out in 2020.
Maine’s Democrat Speaker of the House Sara Gideon announced her intention to run against Collins.
Collins, being one of the more liberal Republicans in the Senate, doesn’t matter to Democrats. In Gideon’s announcement video, she tries to paint Collins as buddies with Mitch McConnell and President Donald Trump.
She then goes on to say that Maine needs a senator that is willing to work with both parties. Again, Collins is one of the most liberal Republicans in the Senate and has a pro-choice voting record.
