The winning doesn’t end with “Jeopardy” champ James Holzhauer – the 32 day contestant who won over $2 million dollars has already started giving back with some of his earnings.
Holzhauer donated $1,109.14 in honor of host Alex Trebek, who revealed he had the disease earlier this year. The donation went to a pancreatic cancer research walk in Holzhauer’s hometown and the winner stated the amount is a reference to his daughter’s birthday.
The organization in Holzhauer’s hometown invited him to participate in a walk, but he declined, sending money instead.
Trebek gave an update on his condition a few weeks ago and says his cancer, which has a very low survival rate, is near remission.
