Former NFL player: ‘I used to be a Democrat until I did my history’

On Wednesday morning, the House held a hearing on reparations. Reparations for slavery, while it used to be a fringe issue, has become something a number of Democratic lawmakers have openly discussed.

A number of prominent people were invited to speak to provide their comments and feelings about the reparations for the ancestors of slaves, including actor and activist Danny Glover and writer Ta-Nehisi Coates.

Also, invited to speak Wednesday before the panel was former Raiders and Jets safety Burgess Owens.

Owens perfectly summed up the Democratic Party, saying that he was actually a Democrat until he started looking into the history of the party of Jim Crow and the KKK.
