Meghan McCain responds to report that White House requested U.S.S. John S. McCain be hidden for Trump’s visit to Japan

During President Trump’s recent visit to Japan, the White House requested that the war ship named after former Arizona Senator John McCain be hidden so it would not appear in photos with the President.

Navy officials told The New York Times they were not invited to hear the President speak even though other warship crews in the area were. They were also given the day off and when several sailors wearing their uniforms with the McCain insignia on it showed up to hear the President speak, they were turned away.

The President denies knowing anything about it, tweeting, “I was not informed about anything having to do with the Navy Ship USS John S. McCain during my recent visit to Japan. Nevertheless, and I loved being with our great Military Men and Women – what a spectacular job they do!”

McCain’s daughter, Meghan, was livid. She called the President’s behavior “childish” and said that “Trump won’t let him RIP. So I have to stand up for him. It makes my grief unbearable.”

Several other conservatives lent support to Meghan after the news broke, including Ben Shapiro.

Interestingly enough, Denise McAllister, former writer for The Federalist, crawled out of the woodwork to attack both Shapiro and McCain over the incident.

To which Shapiro replied.
