Feminist writer is MAD about ‘The Big Bang Theory’ finale

After twelve seasons, CBS’s monster comedy hit “The Big Bang Theory” has come to an end. But not everyone is happy about how the series finale went down, especially Vulture TV critic Kathryn VanArendonk.

VanArendonk is upset because Penny is pregnant – something she’s always said she didn’t want. The writer took offense with the plot twist and criticized the show’s writers for being apolitical in today’s anti-abortion climate.

The stars are happy with the send-off though.

Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny, told USA Today, “I thought it was great. People change their mind, and I think she even admitted, ‘I’m not sure about this.’ But I thought it was a really sweet story line, and it gave Leonard and Penny somewhere to go,” she says.

And creator Chuck Lorre talked about how the ending felt like a natural progression. When we leave these characters and say goodbye to them, we know their life is continuing and expanding. And that just felt right, that life was expanding,” he said.

  1. I’m not sure I understand. Is Kathryn VanArendonk pissed because Penny got married *before* getting pregnant?
