De Blasio announces 2020 presidential run, New Yorkers against run

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio made it official Thursday as he announced his campaign for the presidency.

The Democrat released a video talking about some of his achievements as mayor of our country’s biggest city, including raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, paid sick leave and guaranteed health care.

However, not everyone is exactly jumping for joy that de Blasio decided to get in the race for the White House.

In a poll conducted last just last month, more than 75% of New York City residents said they didn’t want the mayor to run.

Also, following de Blasio’s announcement, The New York Post put out a not-so-flattering cover welcoming him to the race.

The New York Democrat is now the 23rd candidate seeking the Democratic presidential nomination.
