The mainstream media and really journalism in general is in a sorry state. Organizations that like to call themselves middle of the road are clearly not. Presenting opposing views on a newsworthy item is considered a common practice. However, how often does that not happen?
To put it lightly, the trust level in the media is not in a good place and to be honest, they deserve much of the ridicule they receive.
CNN’s Chris Cillizza is usually a target for derision and his latest article on CNN is bringing even more mocking Cillizza’s way, even from fellow journalists.
In an article posted Sunday, Cillizza said why he believes a number of Democratic presidential candidates are essentially characters from HBO’s “Game of Thrones” series.
From the ridiculous article:
With 21 official candidates all seeking the Iron Thro — er, Democratic nomination — it’s sometimes hard to keep track of who’s who. (Sidebar: 60% of the time my wife and I are watching “GOT” is filled with me saying, “Wait, who is that again?”)Maybe this will help jog your memory! Below, all of the candidates matched up with the “Thrones” character they remind me most of.
Other journalists weren’t impressed with Cillizza’s latest effort:
For the love of god, find another profession.

Chris, this kind of thing is another reason why we are in the state we are in in American politics. Treating politics like a game and reality show gives us reality show leaders. And news media become game show hosts. Be better.
