Yesterday, Alyssa Milano called for a sex strike to protest Georgia’s new heart beat bill. Several other Hollywood actors have also said they want to boycott working in the state until everyone has the same rights.
Join us in helping cis men feel the physical consequences of our reproductive rights being systematically eliminated! #SexStrike https://t.co/ep9VHmKVtB

However, it seems her activism and that of the others is not welcomed by all, and she’s getting called out for it by several feminists who you’d think would be on board.
Someone needs to sit homegirl down and tell her she’s not helping. Her calls to boycott Georgia are equally asinine.

To put a fine point on it, when you boycott and try to keep funds out of a state, the folks who are hurt first and most by decreased resources are those who are barely making ends meet. Those are ALSO the folks least able to afford options with respect to healthcare choices.

Alyssa Milano running up on TV talking about policy don’t matter but then trying to tell you to forsake our state over policy.

Not only are they angry about decreased revenue, but they feel the boycott plays into the stereotype that women are only put on earth to satisfy men’s sexual needs.
Lmao.
No.This actually SUPPORTS the idea that we’re just walking vaginas, and/or only here to serve men’s sexual needs. Also, my man ain’t vote these fools into office. https://t.co/80iqwgAaid

The fact she hasn’t talked to or reached out to ANYONE is telling. None of these people have. https://t.co/08RQKvsaTR

Literally. Why don’t y’all start showing up when we are asking for people to stand with us? https://t.co/ngBp0E1wfM

Milano isn’t the only one they’re unhappy with either, Josh Gad (the voice of Olaf in Frozen) got called out too.
These people have hundred of thousands of followers and we’re not with us in this fight and want to go to other states to do production because you don’t care about people just being a pseudowoke liberal. pic.twitter.com/jLkKuGqqCh

Hollywood folks posturing right now like they have values is ridiculous https://t.co/VNBsrz2E3E

I’m skeptical about what the heartbeat bill actually achieves if abortion seekers are still granted abortions for “health” conditions. The definition of health includes emotional health and financial health which implies that under federal law, abortion is still -practically speaking – available on demand in Georgia. Correct me if I’m wrong – I’m not a legal expert.
