The President and Vice President addressed an enthusiastic crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis as part of the NRA Annual Meetings.
Chris Cox, executive director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, started the event off by talking about the state of affairs in the NRA and addressing how liberals are attacking “our trucks, our God, and our guns.”
Next up was VP Pence, who hit on all the major talking points, stating that when our Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution, they gave Americans the right to life, which includes the right to defend ourselves.
The VP highlighted accomplishments of the Trump administration and promised that “as long as this administration is in office, we will not take your guns.”
President Trump took the stage immediately after Vice President Pence and received a rowdy welcome to the NRA-ILA stage.
“We believe in the right to self defense, freedom and liberty and the right to keep and bear arms,” said the President.
“In America, we don’t worship government, we worship God.”
In the same vein as Pence, Trump hit all the major accomplishments of his presidency, touting the stable economy, excellent job reports and encouraged everyone to go out and vote next November.
“America’s future has never been better, yet Democrats have never been angrier that their collusion delusion has been deemed a great fraud!” He exclaimed.
That quote was met with a standing ovation.
“We’ve made America great so our new slogan is ‘Keep America Great’ because socialist want to destroy us,” he also said.
Before the end of his speech, the President signed an executive order removing the US from the UN Arms Treaty.
He also brought out out Stephen Willeford, the man who stopped the Texas church shooter.
The event continues all through the afternoon with Indiana Senators Mike Braun and Todd Young speaking, along with NRA President Oliver North, Texas Senator Ted Cruz and TPUSA’s Candace Owens.
