Bernie Sanders maybe straying away from the rest of the Democrats on border security.
Sanders, during a campaign stop in Iowa, made a somewhat startling statement about the border and immigration as a whole.
The Vermont Independent Senator was asked about his position on immigration. The reporter asking the question seemingly assumes that Sanders is for a complete and totally open border.
Sanders corrects him and gives a rather startling answer when it comes to border security. Essentially, it sounds like something that President Trump would say.
Sen. Bernie Sanders campaigns in Oskaloosa, IA: "If you open the borders, there's a lot of poverty in this world, and you're going to have people from all over the world. And I don't think that's something that we can do at this point. Can't do it." pic.twitter.com/INF9GopzIe

How soon until the media and those on social media are calling Sanders a racist? Don’t hold your breath.
