The star of “Captain America” is starting his own political website. Chris Evans announced that he is launching A Starting Point, a website aimed at creating “informed, responsible and empathetic citizens.”
There’s no launch date yet, but Evans was recently in Washington D.C. shaking hands with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, and according to The Hill, interviewing some of those people for the site.
Was thrilled to be interviewed by @ChrisEvans for his new civic engagement project, A Starting Point. I like Chris’s interview style of straight to the point, no BS, and just the real. Excited to see it launch! pic.twitter.com/SHl7QvSw8D

Honor to meet you, sir. Thank you for taking the time. And if you repeat the secrets I told you about Endgame, Marvel will make sure we BOTH turn to dust. https://t.co/VfAsKpwOaK

Evans told The Hollywood Reporter that he doesn’t want to alienate half his audience, but he feels compelled to speak up.
“You don’t want to alienate half your audience,” says Evans. “But I’d be disappointed in myself if I didn’t speak up. Especially for fear of some monetary repercussion or career damage — that just feels really gross to me.”
The actor is very vocal on Twitter about his disgust for President Trump.
Either you STILL don’t understand that weather is not climate despite literally everyone explaining it to you every time you tweet this ignorance, or you just don’t care, and you’re deliberately misleading your base.
Which is it? https://t.co/35Rmeot0F9

Hey Smithers, remember when you said this:
‘You know how you make America great again, tell Donald Trump to go to hell.’
What do they have on you? I can’t tell if this shameful 180 is born of fear or thirst. Either way, we will always remember you as nothing more than remora. https://t.co/2eZ2Zxqpkv
