“Empire” actor Jussie Smollett will not face any charges in the state of Illinois for reportedly staging a hate crime. This despite overwhelming evidence from the Chicago Police Department that the actor did concoct the hoax.
Nevertheless, Chicago has shown us that when it comes to their public officials, they are just as corrupt as we all thought they were.
Even Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel called the decision a blatant miscarriage of justice and a “whitewash of justice.”
Well, conservatives and Emanuel aren’t the only ones baffled by the decision from the Cook County Prosecutor’s Office.
Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris told CNN’s Wolff Blitzer’s she is “completely confused” and doesn’t “understand” how they could have possibly reached such a conclusion.
Sen. Kamala Harris on prosecutors dropping charges against Jussie Smollett: "I’m completely confused. I don’t understand. I don’t know, I don’t know the underlying evidence. There’s a sealed document, obviously. I don’t know. I’m at a loss." https://t.co/2L5m07UN5q pic.twitter.com/0Ve3eJt2sk
