After Dems block Born-Alive bill, Sen. Tim Scott gives impassioned plea on value of life

On Monday, the United States Senate was unable to vote pass a bill saying that a baby born after a botched abortion deserves to live. Instead, Democrats showed exactly where they stand on the issue, believing that infanticide is acceptable in the United States of America.

The bill failed 53-44, unable to meet the 60-vote threshold. All Republicans voted in favor measure and nearly every Democrat voted against it. Only Democratic senators felt it important enough to cross the aisle to support the rights of a newborn baby.

One of those senators who did not vote on the measure was Republican South Carolina Senator Tim Scott. In a speech on the Senate floor Tuesday morning, Scott explained why he missed the vote and then proceeded to give an impassioned speech on the intrinsic value of life.
