President Trump calls Spike Lee a racist after Oscar acceptance speech

Director Spike Lee won an Oscar last night in the best adapted screenplay category for “BlacKkKlansman.”

When he gave his acceptance speech, it was mostly a rambling history of slavery and black oppression in the United States, but he took the time near the end to get political, pleading with people to get out and vote in the 2020 election.

“The 2020 presidential election is around the corner. Let’s all mobilize. Let’s all be on the right side of history. Make the moral choice between love versus hate,” he said.  “Let’s do the right thing! You know I had to get that in there.”

President Trump wasn’t impressed, taking to Twitter to call Lee a racist.

“Be nice if Spike Lee could read his notes, or better yet not have to use notes at all, when doing his racist hit on your President, who has done more for African Americans (Criminal Justice Reform, Lowest Unemployment numbers in History, Tax Cuts, etc.) than almost any other Pres!,” he wrote.

The African American community, along with liberal talking heads, weren’t thrilled with the President’s response.
