On Sunday evening, Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar set out a firestorm after tweeting out what some have called anti-semitic tweets.
Following the tweets, a number of people, including Democrats called the statements racist. Several hours later, Democratic House Leadership put a release condemning her remarks and demanded that she apologize.
Less than an hour later, Ilhan’s office released a statement apologizing for the comments.

While she did technically apologize, she then ends the statement with:
“At the same time, I reaffirm the problematic role of lobbyists in our politics, whether it AIPAC, the NRA or the fossil fuel industry. It’s gone on too long and we must be willing to address it.”
After apologizing in the first paragraph, she basically excuses her comments because there are lobbyists that work in our government.
Really? Why even waste the time writing up such a statement if that’s how you’re going to apologize?
Sorry, not sorry right, Rep. Omar?
