The Hill is reporting that Democratic Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey has told members of Congress he’s running for President and asking for their support.
A former aid told The Hill that he plans to announce sometime during Black History Month, which begins tomorrow.
Among those who received a call Thursday were senior members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), of which Booker is a member.
“He’s making calls,” a fourth source, Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.), confirmed to The Hill on Thursday night. “He left me a voice message. I have to call him back.”
Booker and Kamala Harris have both been seeking support from the Congressional Black Caucus.
If Booker is successful in his campaigning efforts, it will be interesting to see if his admitted groping incident comes up during debates.
Twitter has already seized on the Spartacus moment from the Kavanaugh hearings.
