Kicker Adam Vinatieri set to return to Colts next season

The Indianapolis Colts surprised many people this season, going above and beyond expectations.  After beginning the season 1-5, the Colts went an impressive winning streak and got into the playoffs, finishing the season with a 10-6 record.

The team then went on to defeat the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild round before ultimately losing to the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs.  With all things considered, the Colts had one heck of a season.

One of those people who had a terrific season was kicker Adam Vinatieri. This season Vinatieri became the NFL’s all-time leading scorer.

The conventional thinking was this would be Vinatieri’s final season in the NFL and would opt for retirement. However, Colts general manager Chris Ballard announced that an agreement on a deal with Vinatieri has been reached.

Terms of the 1-year deal were not disclosed.
