The Women’s March has suffered another blow as the Democratic National Committee has dropped out as a sponsor for the organization. Leaders of the march have been criticized for aligning themselves with activists such as Louis Farrakhan who, in the past, have made blatantly anti-Semitic remarks.
While the DNC didn’t give an exact reason for pulling sponsorship, they did issue this statement on women’s rights instead:
“The DNC stands in solidarity with all those fighting for women’s rights and holding the Trump administration and Republican lawmakers across the country accountable. Women are on the front lines of fighting back against this administration and are the core of our Democratic Party.”
The Women’s March has not commented on losing the DNC as a sponsor and plans to hold several rallies nationwide this Saturday, including a march on D.C.
