Kirsten Gillibrand staffing up for 2020 presidential run

It looks like another Democrat is soon likely to announce a presidential run. In a meeting Saturday Kirsten Gillibrand reportedly told a group of women that she is in fact planning to launch a 2020 run for the White House.

Additionally, Gillibrand has recruited senior positions for a campaign, including a head of communications as well as several other veteran Democratic operatives.

Gillibrand will also be visiting Iowa this week in order to introduce herself to voters in that always important primary state.

Former Obama cabinet Julian Castro has formally jumped into the race. Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, while hasn’t formally announced her intention to run, did tell CNN’s Van Jones that she is getting into the race.

This comes ahead of what is expected to be an extremely crowded field of Democratic candidates.
